The TEACHERS section in management mode contains everyone from your staff: teachers, specialists, management, etc. The STAFF section is currently only used to grant access to a Studyo employee to your school, so you should not use it.

Within the TEACHERS section, you can either add new records using the "+" button beside the search box...

... or edit existing records using the three vertical dots button on each line.

When adding a new teacher or selecting "Edit details", you have access to the basic information about the teacher:

  • Locked: When checked, this record cannot be deleted by a subsequent data import operation, but it still can change! Records you create manually are locked by default. Records created by an import aren't.

  • Import Identifier: This is the teacher id in your SIS, or a random string of text when manually creating a new teacher. You don't have to specify it, but if you know that id, it's important to set it.

  • First Name / Last Name: The teacher's name, as it will appear in Studyo.

  • Email: The email to be used to connect to Studyo and Insights.

  • Visible email: The email shown to students to contact that teacher. When empty, the Email field is used.

  • Language: The communication language to use to communicate with that teacher. Your school's default language is used when none set.

  • Can manage this school: Grants that teacher administrative access to your school.

  • Connected user: When set, shows you what kind of authentification was used by that user to connect to Studyo or Insights.

You can also delete a teacher record using "Delete this account". In Studyo, teacher records are never completely removed. Instead, they still appear in your teachers' list, with a red marker.

If you delete a record by mistake, you can return to "Edit details" and undelete it.

The connected state of the record is also shown in the list with the blue silhouette before their name. This means the teacher connected at least once to Studyo or Insights, and their user account was linked with their teacher record. Admins will also display a key symbol next to their name.

If you need to change a teacher's email while their record is already connected to a user account, it's important to remember that the account doesn't get disconnected. This means the teacher won't be able to connect to Studyo or Insights using their new email. You must disconnect the connected user, using the delete icon next to their "Connected user" information, to allow a new user account to get linked to that record.
