Studyo offers great tools to teachers to manage their class occurrences. From their "Teacher" tab, they can mark occurrences as skipped, push contents to future occurrences, change room names, etc.

But when a teacher is sick, they don't always have time to update their schedules to inform students. Your school might have a system in place when this happens. You might want to move students to special study rooms, for example.

Studyo admins can go the TEACHERS section (again, when managing the school), locate the absent teacher's record with the search field, click the three dots on their line and select "Manage Schedule".

Each column represents a day, and each coloured cell a course occurrence. The list is sorted vertically by section name. On each cell, you have access to an action menu via the ">" button.

In Studyo, each period displays its course occurrence number. If you wondered what those numbers were, now you know.

It turns out displaying that number is the default behavior. These titles are totally customizable, and many teachers adjust them to fit their course planning. That's what the "Period title" field is about. Moving the focus on the field while it's empty shows you what is the default title.

This title is the perfect candidate to indicate an exception. You could spell out "Teacher absent", but space can be limited, so the shorter it is, the better. How about using emojis? Let's use the ⛔ symbol to indicate something special and change the room name to "Library". Once we press "Modify", the cell displays the changes.

Studyo planners will automatically adjust as well.

Now, that symbol might not be enough to draw the attention of students to the exception. If you want that period to stand out amongst others, you can mark it as skipped. Let's click the ">" button on that period and check the "Mark this period as skipped" option. The title is automatically emptied because skipped periods use "X" by default, but we can set it again to ⛔. Now, upon confirming the changes, the period is gray.

In Studyo, the period looks like this:

With this tool, you can also move titles to their next respective non-skipped period, but we strongly suggest you let teachers manage their titles themselves. It's part of their personal planning after all.
